The idea sounds very appealing especially for IT related businesses. Using idle resources of people could be beneficial for companies from so many perspectives that it is almost inevitable that crowdsourcing will become popular in a near future. Benefits:
- reduction of cost of rare resources (qualified people),
- reduction of hiring and firing cost,
- increased flexibility in managing resources
- increased potential of the organization
Cost:
- potential decrease in motivation of employees
- potential loss of the quality of service
- increased cost of managing crowdsourced projects
- potential increased risk
